Invenios Announces the Formation of Invenios Europe GmbH, a New Company Specializing in the Field of Micro-structuring of Glass, Alumina, Ceramic and Other Advanced Substrates

Mainz/Langen, Germany—December 17, 2013  — Invenios, an advanced technology micro-fabrication foundry specializing in MEMS, microfluidics, and 3D microstructures announces the formation of Invenios Europe GmbH (Invenios Europe). The newly created company will be headquartered in Langen (Hessen), Germany and new facilities will be operational at the end of December 2013. Invenios Europe GmbH acquired advanced technology and manufacturing capabilities from mikroglas chemtech GmbH in a transaction that was completed on October 1, 2013. The new company will build on the knowledge base and expertise developed by mikroglas chemtech GmbH over the last two decades and retains the services of long-term engineering staff.

Former mikroglas personnel are on-board to guarantee a seamless transfer of key processes and maintain the highest service level to existing and new customers.  Dr. Thomas R. Dietrich has been retained as a consultant for the company; however he will take on new responsibilities outside the micro-fabrication foundry as of the 01 January 2014.

According to the firm’s President and CEO, Raymond Karam, “The combination of a new facility, innovative technology, and a dedicated staff gives us a basis on which to exceed our European clients’ expectations.” He added, “Invenios is creating a paradigm shift towards rapid production of integrated solutions for abroad range of applications including MEMS, microfluidics, and 3D microstructures.”

Europe-based customers will now be able to take advantage of prototyping and production capabilities incorporating technologies and processes developed by Invenios in the United States and not offered by other micro-fabrication foundries. Invenios Europe is skillful at producing micro-fabricated components that require extremely precise details in glass and glass-ceramic, silicon, alumina, and other advanced substrates. Capabilities include 2D and 3D structuring, bonding a range of substrates at room temperature, integrating electrical leads and encapsulating fluids in micro-fabricated parts.

About Invenios
Invenios is a micro-fabrication foundry specializing in the design, development and manufacturing of microfluidics, MEMS, and 3D microstructures to help both established and emerging companies create new products using high performance, cost-effective solutions.  Unlike traditional microsystems foundries, Invenios delivers a complete production cycle, which includes design review, process development, manufacturing, and testing within an ISO 9001 environment to support a broad range of micron and sub-micron level products. With facilities in Santa Barbara, California and Langen, Germany, the company also engineers exclusive processes and custom production equipment that is required to manufacture this range of products.  With complete foundry services, Invenios supports a broad range of micro manufacturing applications where extremely close microchip tolerances, greatly reduced cost-of-packaging, and compressed time-to-market are paramount. Vertically integrated from raw materials to finished products with all production processing in-house, Invenios provides a complete array of products, process technologies, and services that enable cost effective next generation integrated nano/micro-systems.
